Following our simple instructions you and your baby can benefit from using our Cheeky Wipes, by using everyday tap water and New Zealand made organic Tea Tree oil, known for its antiseptic qualities. That's it. Compare this to disposable wipes - can you even pronounce the listed ingredients? The key one to look out for is any paraben (eg methylparaben). Parabens are toxic when ingested by animals and can cause contact dermatitis, a rash caused by frequent low-level exposures to the substance. Symptoms can occur from seven days to years after exposure. (The Chemical Maze Shopping Companion, Bill Statham, Possibility.com, 2005) That can't be good for your baby.

Better for the PLANET
Where to start? Disposable wipes and their packaging go into landfills, complete with raw sewerage and any gastro bugs or infections. They'll still be sitting there when your great-great grandkids are parents. Cheeky wipes are 100% cotton and can be composted - that is after you've reused them as cleaning rags! The pails are really sturdy and can be reused for a wide variety of things for years afterwards. The box they're sent in is recyclable, even the padding inside is recycled newspaper! That's very planet-friendly.
Then there's energy and transport. Each and every pack of disposable wipes has had to get from the factory overseas, to your local supermarket, then to your house. Cheeky Wipes are made in our sewing room (in Christchurch), and couriered to you once. The pails, Tea Tree oil, Out'n'About containers and boxes are all made in New Zealand. The only thing that I have to source from overseas is the fabric - but I have them cut locally. They have not had them made 'on the cheap' in China. We are also helping to support Christchurch by using four local companies to put together our pails!
